In today’s post, we’ll be taking a look at what I earned from side hustling and the gig economy in March 2025.
Side Hustle Income for March 2025
Total Side Hustle Income for March 2025 = $611.13
March was another bad side hustle month for me, although an improvement from what I did in February. One oddity is that I didn’t get any bookings on Rover in March. Meanwhile, my food delivery earnings leveled back out thanks to improved weather that’s been making it easier for me to bike around.
In the remainder of this post, we’ll take a closer look at my earnings for the month.
Rental Income: $2,400 (Not Included In Total)
The rental property continues to be consistent and doesn’t generate many headaches for me. I rent in a college neighborhood, so there’s some risk with younger tenants, but so far, all of the tenants I’ve had have done a good job taking care of the house.
My expenses for the month, outside of the mortgage, included $126 I had to pay for my yearly rental license renewal. I also paid $37 for some lawncare supplies. Other than that, I don’t have much to report here.
Rover Income: $0
For the first time in a long while, I didn’t have a single Rover booking for an entire month. I’m not sure what made Rover so slow this past month. I do feel that I’m not getting as many requests as I used to get, so I’m not sure if there’s more competition in the area or if things are just generally getting slower. I’ll probably need to retool my profile a bit to make sure it’s still good.
DoorDash/Uber Eats/Grubhub Income: $470.58
Here’s the breakdown of my food delivery earnings in March 2025.
March was a marked improvement from what I made in February (where I ended up with my lowest earning food delivery month ever). DoorDash and Uber Eats both did the best for me, as they usually do in most months.
I did one interesting thing in March where I did a day of Uber Eats deliveries while I was visiting Boston. One nice thing about DoorDash and Uber Eats is that, in general, you can do deliveries in any city that they operate in. To get around, I got a $10 day pass for the Boston Bikeshare system (called the Bluebikes). This allowed me to bike around, earn some money, and explore the city. I also paid for bikeshare using my American Express Delta Platinum Business Card, which gives me a $10 credit each month for Lyft purchases. Since the Boston Bikeshare system is run by Lyft, I was able to pay for the daypass using the Lyft app, thus triggering this credit.
I did film my delivery run while I was in Boston, which you can check out on my YouTube channel if you’re interested in seeing how I do deliveries in a different city.
Roadie Income: $9.82
I did one Roadie delivery in March – a CVS pharmacy delivery. I believe Roadie contracts with CVS and Target to do their pharmacy deliveries. Picking up deliveries with Roadie is similar to picking up orders with DoorDash or Uber Eats. Roadie isn’t consistent enough to use as a primary source of side hustle income, but I’ll use it to fill in gaps in the day as needed.
TaskRabbit Income: $17
TaskRabbit is an app where you can get hired to do just about any task. Most of the time, I’m tasked with doing general errands. This past month, I got hired by an Airbnb host to move some trash cans to the curb for the garbage truck to pick up. This house was nearby, so it didn’t take me long to bike over there and move the trash cans out. Funny enough, my friend lives a few houses down from this Airbnb house, so I had him move the trash cans back to the garage in the morning.
Note that even though it only took me a few minutes to do this task, Taskrabbit has a minimum invoice period of 1 hour, so this customer was charged for one hour worth of work.
If you’re interested, I filmed a YouTube short of myself doing this Taskrabbit gig.
ProductTube Income: $5
I made $5 from ProductTube in March. I’ve been slacking a bit with this app, but I should try to focus on it some more because it pays well for the little time that it takes.
Google Opinion Rewards/1Q/Facebook Viewpoints Income: $15.73
Here are my earnings from each of these short survey apps. $
Both Google Opinion Rewards and 1Q did well for me in March. I didn’t make anything with Facebook Viewpoints, which is to be expected in most months.
Secret Shopping Income: $87 (but lots of free food)
Secret shopping made me some income in March from older shops that I was waiting to get paid for. I’m still getting secret shop assignments from other websites, but my main one that was earning me money is Marketforce, which booted me from their platform a few months ago.
ReceiptPal/Receipt Hog/Fetch/CoinOut/Amazon Shopper Panel Income: $6
I made $6 from Amazon Shopper Panel by taking pictures of receipts I collected during the month. Not bad at all. The other receipt apps continue to accrue points and I’ll cash those out for cash at some point.
And that concludes the March 2025 Side Hustle Report!
This is a quick report. My side hustling isn’t very different these days, so admittedly, these side hustle reports feel pretty repetitive most months. That being said, I think it’s still worth writing them just to keep a log of what I’ve been doing with my extra time.
I do show off a lot of the side hustles I do on my ebike on my YouTube Channel, so check it out if you want to see these side hustles in action. Thanks for reading.
