Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM 2.40%), popularly known as TSMC, have been under pressure in 2025. Investors have concerns surrounding the health of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure spending earlier this year followed by the recent tariff-related turmoil, which sparked a stock market sell-off. Still, the company’s latest results show that these factors haven’t derailed the company’s impressive growth trajectory. TSMC released its first-quarter results on April 17. The company’s revenue and earnings rose impressively from the year-ago period, and management’s guidance clearly indicates that it isn’t expecting a slowdown in its growth on account of the tariff-fueled trade war.…
To celebrate the launch of my new book, Millionaire Milestones: Simple Steps To Seven Figures, on May 6, 2025, I thought it’d be fun to explore various millionaire topics leading up to the release. For most millionaires, owning the nicest house they can afford is a top priority. Given that many of us are still spending more time at home post-pandemic, the intrinsic value of a home has gone up. And for millionaires with kids or a lot of furry friends, a spacious house on a large lot can feel like a necessity. So in this post, let’s explore a…
If you’ve got a pile of cash burning a hole in your pocket, consider putting it to work in the stock market. Long-term investing is a great way to build wealth, and few know this better than investing legend Warren Buffett, who has turned his once-modest holding company, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A 2.54%) (BRK.B 2.79%), into a $1.1 trillion equity behemoth. Below I’ll discuss why Chinese electric-vehicle (EV) maker BYD (BYDDY 7.09%) — as well as shares in Berkshire Hathaway itself — could be great buys right now. BYD Since its 2003 founding in Shenzhen, China, BYD has been riding the…
Denmark-based pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk (NVO 2.66%) has been struggling during the past year. Its financial results — though strong by comparison to most of its peers — haven’t been as good as investors expected. The company has also faced clinical trial setbacks: An otherwise promising weight loss medicine it developed failed to impress the market with its late-stage results. Now, Novo Nordisk is getting even more bad news, thanks to developments from its biggest competitor in the diabetes and obesity drug markets: Eli Lilly (LLY 1.21%). Should investors give up on Novo Nordisk? Losing ground in the GLP-1 market?…
The recent pullback is offering even the smallest investors an opportunity to get in on the best AI stocks. Artificial intelligence (AI) stocks were the driving force behind the S&P 500’s impressive performances in 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately, they’ve also been the biggest drags on stock market returns in 2025. While many of the top AI stocks have dropped in price, not every single one of them is worth investing in right now. However, the sell-off has provided smart investors with a lot more attractive entry points for several of the market leaders across cloud computing, software, and semiconductors. Even…
Although Alphabet (GOOG 2.81%) (GOOGL 2.74%) is currently undergoing a tough antitrust case, investors pushed the prices of its two share classes higher on the second trading day of the week. Many were cheered by the prospect of a top name in artificial intelligence (AI) potentially buying one of the company’s more high-profile assets. This could be a neat way out of its current legal bind. On the day, Alphabet’s stock price rose by almost 3%. A promising offer? During Tuesday’s session of the antitrust court case, a key executive at that AI business, leading developer OpenAI, stated that his company…
The S&P 500 has slumped in recent months. The index has fallen more than 15% from its recent peak, driven down by concerns that tariffs might cause a recession. Many stocks have fallen even further than the index, including ExxonMobil (XOM 2.73%), Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT 1.44%), and PepsiCo (PEP 1.24%), which are down 15% or more. They look like even more attractive investments for those seeking durable dividends that could last a lifetime. Adding more fuel to grow its dividend Shares of Exxon have fallen more than 15% from their recent peak. That downdraft has driven the oil…
Newsmax (NMAX 7.46%) stock closed out Tuesday’s trading with big gains. The company’s share price was up 9.3% at the end of the day and had been up as much as 13.4% earlier in the session. Newsmax’s gains came amid a 2.5% rally for the S&P 500 and a 2.7% jump for the Nasdaq Composite. In addition to the bullish backdrop shaping the broader market’s trading, the stock saw gains driven by the announcement of a new distribution deal. Newsmax stock surges on macro hopes and deal with Supercanal The stock market bounced back from sell-offs in Monday’s trading thanks…
After sell-offs yesterday, Intel (INTC 3.58%) stock rallied in Tuesday’s trading. The semiconductor company’s share price gained 2.8% amid a 2.5% gain for the S&P 500 and a 2.7% gain for the Nasdaq Composite. The stock had been up as much as 4.8% before giving up some of its gains. Bloomberg reported today that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said at an investor conference this morning that the U.S.-China trade war could see significant de-escalation in the near term. The news helped power substantial gains for Intel despite two analysts lowering their price targets on the stock before the market…
Amazon (AMZN 3.62%) stock saw significant gains Tuesday. The company’s share price closed out the session up 3.6% and had been up as much as 5.7% earlier in the session. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.5% and 2.7%, respectively. The stock market continued to its run of high volatility in today’s trading, but investors got a welcome day of rebound momentum on the heels of yesterday’s big sell-off. Stocks saw a strong run of bullish trading following a report from Bloomberg today that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had said that he expected de-escalation on the trade war…
